I’m a music teacher who primarily offers peripatetic music lessons in schools. I currently teach individuals and small groups in The John of Gaunt Secondary School, Melksham Oak Community School, The Mead Primary School, The Grove Primary School and North Bradley Primary School. In these schools I teach recorder, flute, jSax, alto saxophone, ukulele and djembe drumming. At Aloeric Primary School I offer First Access where I teach whole classes recorder, ukulele and singing with a variety of fun teaching styles and activities. I also teach individuals at home after school and in the evenings.
I’m a BA (Hons) primary school trained teacher with 10 years teaching experience. I’ve been teaching music as my business for 5 years. I have been playing the flute for over 30 years and have a huge amount of playing and performing experience in small groups, orchestras and community projects. I began playing the recorder as a young girl, progressing onto the flute and as I continued to play into adulthood I took up the alto saxophone. More recently I have learnt how to play ukulele with Bath School of Ukulele! In the past I have enjoyed playing flute in the Innovations Jazz Orchestra and alto in Bath Community Big Band. I now thoroughly enjoy playing flute in my own flute choir, Passion Flutes.
I have experience of entering flute students into exams for Trinity and ABRSM exam boards, with a 100% pass rate from Grade 1 to Grade 8. Most of my pupils receive merits and distinctions. I teach flute to diploma level and alto saxophone to Grade 5.
